National Development Planning Commission
The National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) has engaged representatives of ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) to review their 2025 Annual Progress Reports (APRs), address reporting gaps and finalise the Results Framework for the Medium-Term National Development Policy Framework (MTNDPF) 2026–2029.
The engagement provided an opportunity to assess submitted reports, address reporting challenges and validate indicators, baselines and targets for monitoring national development priorities for 2026-2029.
Opening the meeting, the Director-General of NDPC, Dr Audrey Smock Amoah, indicated that the review was intended to address challenges identified during the compilation and review of the 2025 APRs and improve the quality of information submitted by institutions. She noted that the previous medium-term national development policy framework, An Agenda for Jobs, ended in 2025, while the new framework took effect in 2026, with a focus on job creation, accountability and shared prosperity.
She urged MDAs to take responsibility for indicators developed jointly with the Commission and ensure that their reports were complete, accurate and submitted on time.
The Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at NDPC, Mr Bright Atiase, noted that the Commission reviews APRs to identify reporting gaps, provide feedback and guide capacity-building support. He noted that the 2025 reports had informed the National Annual Progress Report submitted to Parliament and the Presidency. He added that MDAs were expected to account for their achievements and explain why targets had not been met.
Mr. Atiase also indicated that the NDPC was finalising the Results Framework for the MTNDPF, 2026–2029. He urged participants to resolve outstanding issues relating to indicators, baselines and annual targets before the framework was submitted for approval.
